Most expect that as size increases, the price does as well. That's only one way to look at the process of building your home. Each home builder has a way they build their homes, and trying to view it from this perspective means you could miss many important things that go into a new home.
As you can see, once you change your perspective, there’s more details you should explore and consider when choosing your builder. To get a full understanding you should be asking the questions below to find out if the builder is a fit for you.
Will the home builder you’re working with take the time to understand you?
Does the home builder have a history of happy clients?
Are they picking the right people to do the work, or the cheapest ones?
Can they tailor their service to me?
Is the design you love part of the builder, or a designer that you’ll have to hire?
Their show home looks amazing, but are their clients happy?
There are specific things that I want, and how do they make sure it’s done to my satisfaction?
How do you get updates, or see what’s happening during the build?
During the discovery process we want to know more about you, and make sure that what we offer provides value. At this point, it’s about casting a wide net, capturing details and letting us present you with options to review.
We’ll discuss items like how many times you’ve built before, your knowledge of construction and more.
We’re always think we’re great, and we have a lot of pride in our work. How we treat actual clients can give you insight into how your home build will go, and how we’ll communicate and take care of issues along the way. The biggest resource you have is by seeking reviews from third-parties like Facebook, Google, Homestars and Houzz.
We don’t hide anything and we give you access to the same software that we use to manage our pre-construction and construction teams. The software allows you to see daily logs, a calendar of upcoming work as well as photos.
You can add items to be fixed at any time, and once completed, you mark if you’re happy with the work, not us.
Often time the thought around trade selection is to ask for quotes and go for the lowest provider. If that was the mentality with other things in life, Starbucks would not exist. We believe that picking the right trades is about how they finish their work, what they take pride in and do they understand our business philosophy of being a leader in everything we do. Even with items that are code dependent, having a trade that cares about their work can make a difference.
How we plan to build your home is just as important how it looks at the end. We’ve designed our process to enable us to have multiple fail safes as well as be effective to show you progress on your home. We stick to our process so that we capture the promises we make and can execute your new home flawlessly.
Most builders will have Architectural Technologists to adjust floor plans, then ‘out source’ the rest of the design items. We think that leads to a sub-standard experience and home.
Our design team includes:
Architect. Having our own Architect means we can come up with designs that only few can conceptualize, much less execute.
Senior Designer. Our Senior Designer stylizes our show homes, and works hand in hand with clients to determine their vision.
Kitchen Designer. We have a Kitchen Designer who is NKBA certified and has expertise crafting cabinetry for your culinary creations.
We’re detail obsessed. In our industry for most homes, and even highly custom ones, a set of blue prints is typically 10-12 pages long. We decided a long time ago to have over 30 pages per home that details things like tile patterns, flooring cut lines, all cabinetry, windows, doors, and more.
It allows us to move faster, and more efficiently to get your home exactly the way you want it.
At the end of it all, we want our clients to be happy. Happy they chose Kanvi, happy with their home and continue to be happy every day they experience their Kanvi home. Every year, we try to host a party and invite all our clients to attend. We love catching up with those that we’ve helped make a major step in their life, and we come together to say thank you for supporting us all at Kanvi.
